Kate McKeon spent her formative years in Texas and in the words of LBJ, meanders back to Texas “… early and often….” She considers Dallas home, but currently resides in NYC.
In Texas you can try anything once, after that we may shoot you.
-Kate McKeon
After school, Kate started Bowltix to serve retail and wholesale customers, 2004 through 2008. Bowltix specialized in providing event tickets to College Football Bowl Games. It was the testing ground for online marketing plans and process automation. Kate was able to condense the work year to 51 hours as well as justify Dallas Stars Hockey 4 nights a week. Thank you to the many direct and indirect Bowltix customers. It was a great ride.
After a stint with ManhattanGMAT(now owned by Kaplan, owned by Washington Post, owned by Jeff Bezos as Graham Holdings), Kate opened Prepwise to make extraordinary education accessible. Prepwise uses proprietary algorithms to help individual students maximize their learning outcomes. Seeing over 2500 individual session students in approximately 3 years led to powerful realizations about the impact of attitude for both the student and teacher in success.
We are barely scratching the surface in understanding how our brains process inputs – my interest is in comprehension and performance. Which has led to research in nonverbal communication, neurology, psychology and education. Can we actually cause comprehension? Improve cognitive performance? With large data sets and open minds we can find ways to train our children with the skills needed to keep America great.
I write about education, economics and mastery and create my own sports stats to express my points – often at the expense of NHL Western Conference opponents. Go Stars!
